Task Context
Tasks in HoneyDone have a context mode that describes when and where the task fits best.
Context Modes
| Mode | When to use |
|---|---|
| Desk Work | Computer-based tasks: email, research, documents, budgeting |
| Running Errands | Out-of-home tasks: shopping, pickups, drop-offs, store visits |
| House & Yard | Physical home tasks: cleaning, repairs, yard work, organizing |
| Phone & Admin | Call-based tasks: scheduling, billing, insurance, appointments |
| Flexible | Tasks that can be done in any mode or context |
How Context Works
- Set a context mode on tasks via the create form or the edit form on the task detail page.
- Switch your active mode using the mode switcher on the Dashboard or Planning Board.
- When a mode is active, the recommendation engine boosts matching tasks and suppresses mismatched ones.
- Resource flags (requires computer, phone, vehicle, best at home, best out of home) reinforce context scoring.
Context Inference
When you quick-capture a task, HoneyDone infers a likely context mode from keywords:
- "pick up groceries" -> Running Errands
- "mow the lawn" -> House & Yard
- "call the dentist" -> Phone & Admin
- "research new dishwashers" -> Desk Work
Ambiguous inputs are left unset so you can assign them yourself.
