Home, Assets & Places
HoneyDone lets you build a registry of your physical world — your home assets (appliances, vehicles, tools), the places associated with your household, and a maintenance forecast that keeps track of what's due.
Assets
An asset is any physical thing your household is responsible for maintaining — a furnace, dishwasher, car, lawn mower, water heater, etc. Tracking assets lets HoneyDone generate smarter maintenance tasks and gives you a history of what's been done.
Adding an asset
- Go to Home & Assets and click New asset.
- Give it a name (e.g., "Carrier HVAC unit", "2018 Honda CR-V").
- Optionally add: purchase date, model number, serial number, warranty expiration, location (which place it's at), and notes.
Asset detail
On the asset detail page you can see:
- Maintenance history — past tasks linked to this asset, sorted by date
- Upcoming maintenance — tasks with a due date that are linked to this asset
- Documents — a place to attach manuals, receipts, warranty info
Linking tasks to an asset
When creating or editing a task, you can link it to an asset. This keeps all work on an appliance or vehicle in one place and builds a searchable service history.
Maintenance view
The Maintenance page shows all maintenance-related tasks across your assets — upcoming, overdue, and recently completed — in one place. It's the fastest way to see whether anything critical has been neglected.
The view is separate from your general task list so routine maintenance doesn't clutter your daily work.
Places
Places are named locations associated with your household — your home, a rental property, a vacation house, a storage unit, or frequently visited locations like a school, office, or favorite store.
Places serve two purposes:
- Grouping — assets and tasks can be linked to a place, so you can see everything associated with a location.
- Errands routing — tasks tagged with a place appear in the Errands view grouped by location, so you can batch stops efficiently.
Adding a place
- Go to Places and click New place.
- Give it a name and type (home, work, store, school, etc.).
- Optionally add an address for map linking.
Tips
- Register your major appliances with purchase dates. HoneyDone (and subscribed Packs) can use this to schedule filter changes, tune-ups, and inspections.
- Use Places + Errands to make your errands efficient. Tag errand tasks with the store they need to happen at, and the Errands view batches them by location.
