Getting Started with HoneyDone
HoneyDone is a household operating system for couples, families, and roommates. It externalizes the mental load of running a home — who's doing what, what's coming up, what's been forgotten, and how to keep things balanced.
Create your account
- Go to the HoneyDone sign-up page and create an account with your email address.
- Check your email to verify your address.
Create or join a household
Every person in HoneyDone belongs to a household. A household is the shared workspace for your home — all tasks, projects, shopping lists, and packs belong to it.
To create a new household: After signing in for the first time, you'll be prompted to name your household. Give it a memorable name (your last name, your address, whatever works for you).
To join an existing household: Ask someone who's already in the household to invite you. You'll receive an email invitation — click the link to join directly.
Invite household members
Once your household is set up, invite the people you live with.
- Go to Settings → Members.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
- They'll receive an email invitation and join your household when they accept.
Each member gets their own tasks and assignments, but everyone can see the shared household view.
Set your household profile
HoneyDone uses your household profile to generate smarter suggestions. Fill in:
- Home type — house, apartment, condo, etc.
- Outdoor spaces — yard, deck, pool, garden
- Climate zone — affects seasonal maintenance reminders
- Family makeup — number of adults, kids, pets
Find these settings at Settings → Household.
Start capturing work
Once your household is set up, start getting things out of your head:
- Quick Capture — use the search bar at the top of any page, or go to the dedicated capture page (bookmark it on your phone).
- Tasks — go to the Tasks page and click "New task" for anything that needs doing.
- Shopping Lists — go to Shopping and create your first list.
What to explore first
- Command Center — your daily overview of the household's state
- Today (Planning) — tasks organized by your current mode (Focus, At home, Errands, etc.)
- Packs — subscribe to domain-specific add-ons that generate relevant tasks for your household automatically
