HoneyDone/Help

External Capture & Inbox

HoneyDone gives you several ways to capture household work without opening the full app. Everything captured lands in your Inbox as a draft for review before it becomes a real task.

Quick Capture page

The quickest way to get something into HoneyDone from your phone.

  1. Open HoneyDone and go to /capture (or tap the "Quick Capture" link in the sidebar).
  2. Type what needs to be done and tap Capture.
  3. The item lands in your Inbox as a draft.

Add it to your home screen: On iOS, tap the Share button and choose "Add to Home Screen." On Android, tap the browser menu and choose "Add to Home Screen." This gives you one-tap capture without opening a browser tab.

Browser bookmarklet

Capture anything you're looking at on the web — a product page, a recipe, a how-to article — and send it directly to your HoneyDone inbox.

  1. Go to Settings → Capture.
  2. Drag the HoneyDone Capture bookmarklet to your browser's bookmarks bar.
  3. On any page you want to capture, click the bookmarklet.
  4. A small popup appears. Optionally edit the title, then click Send to HoneyDone.

The page URL and title are saved as a draft in your Inbox.

Email capture

Forward emails to your household's capture email address and they'll appear in your Inbox automatically.

  1. Go to Settings → Capture to find your household's unique capture email address.
  2. Forward any email to that address.
  3. The email subject becomes the draft title; the body is saved as context.

Your capture email address is specific to your household — don't share it publicly.

Reviewing your Inbox

Everything captured — from the quick-capture page, bookmarklet, or email — lands in Inbox as a draft.

  1. Go to Inbox to review pending drafts.
  2. For each draft, choose:
    • Confirm — turn it into a real task (you'll be prompted to set details)
    • Discard — remove it without creating a task

Drafts don't appear in your task list or affect your workload until you confirm them. This keeps quick capture frictionless — you can dump anything in without worrying about polluting your task list.

Capture settings

All capture options are configured at Settings → Capture:

  • View your capture email address
  • Get the browser bookmarklet
  • See the quick-capture page URL for bookmarking
